Food has always been a big part of me and my adult identity. I love shopping for food, cooking food, eating food, sharing food with others and talking about food. However, recently as I have been spending the majority of my time with Yem and cutting back on time getting creative in the kitchen, somehow fashion has won over my heart again.
I find fashion sexy the same way I find food sexy. It's best when it's pure, simple, classic, created with care and integrity, and beautiful looking.
Years ago, I decided to throw out all the bad stuff (sugar, flour, processed food etc) in my pantry and committed to a clean eating habit. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I cook with fresh ingredients and shop at the farmers' markets. I stand by my philosophy; my food tastes the best when it is thoughtfully made from the freshest ingredients, grown by farmers I know. This kind of food gives eating a meaning.
Then I realized that my fashion philosophy is exactly the same. I no longer buy clothes just because they look good. I buy them because they ARE good, from sourcing, to making to selling. I buy them because my heart feels something for them. I buy them because they have meaning.
